USMCA Agreement

To claim preferential tariff treatment, a certificate of origin is required. If your product complies with the rules of origin, you can apply for tariff preference.

Food labeling

Mandatory information on prepackaged foods must appear in English and French according to CFIA/Health Canada. Plan ahead to adapt labels.

LVS threshold

Shipments ≤ CAD$3,300 are eligible for simplified processing. Remember: the LVS threshold does not allow for splitting a single order to avoid paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.- Can I send samples and sell them at the expo? No. If you sell the product, it must be entered as a definitive commercial import. Samples are for display purposes only and must be returned or destroyed in accordance with the temporary regime.
2.- How far in advance should I send my shipment? We recommend sending it between May 18 and 22. If you are sending food, take into account the storage method and customs clearance times.
3.- Are there any discounts or special rates? Yes. Get 70% off when you open a new account for exports to Canada, or 40% off at our UPS Shipping Centers using the code EXPOCA.
4.- Who receives my product in Canada? The Mexican Embassy in Canada will centralize the reception of all packages. If you ship with UPS, we will coordinate the transfer of shipments directly to the event site.
5.- How do I make my shipment? You can visit one of our UPS Shipping Centers nationwide (find the one nearest you at ups.com) or request personalized assistance from our sales representative at vatilano@ups.com.
6.- What is the biggest mistake that causes delays? Inconsistencies between the invoice, packing list, and shipping documents, as well as the lack of certifications if the product requires them.
7.- Do I need to be registered as an exporter? Yes. You must be registered with the SAT and have an active RFC. We will ask you for this information before processing the shipment to ensure that everything is in order.
