CESAR GUTIERREZ TEXIS
I am an artisan artist dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Tlaxcalan culture. For over seven years, I have worked as a designer of handcrafted jewelry, creating necklaces, earrings, pendants, and bracelets that incorporate organic elements of great symbolic value. I use seeds, peacock feathers, and beads, fusing them with the totomoxtle (corn husk) technique to create unique accessories with high visual and cultural impact. Furthermore, my expertise in working with corn husks has given me the honor of representing my community in important venues, notably my participation in the totomoxtle figure exhibition at the Senate of the Republic.
Beyond the workshop, my life is reflected as an entrepreneur and poultry farmer where I run and manage my own farm. This duality between art and poultry farming materializes every weekend in alternative markets, where I sell my products
Thanks to the quality and attention to detail in my work, I have been invited to various cultural events both locally and nationally. At each of these events, my main objective is to promote our cultural identity and demonstrate that Mexican craftsmanship is a living, dignified, and constantly evolving expression.
Seed and Bead Jewelry
Our earrings and bracelets are a vibrant tribute to Tlaxcalan craftsmanship, made with the delicacy of carefully selected seeds, in their amazing diversity of shapes and colors, as well as beautiful pieces of luminous beadwork. Each piece is a unique work of art, representing figures or lines that reflect the richness of our fields, connecting with the essence of nature, tradition, and above all, the skill of expert artisan hands that create these crafts.

María del Rocío Rodríguez
I define myself as an entrepreneurial woman dedicated to preserving culture and the well-being of my community. In the artisan field, I specialize in reviving pepenado embroidery, a highly complex technique that I apply to handcrafted blouses and napkins. I constantly seek innovation without losing the essence of handmade craftsmanship. For me, each embroidered piece is a testament to identity that deserves to be valued appropriately through fair trade.
My entrepreneurial spirit has led me to consolidate a fundamental business unit in our gastronomy: traditional milling. Through my milling business, we transform the fruits of our fields into the foundation of regional cuisine. From nixtamal for daily tortillas to the preparation of pastes for mole, pipián, and mixiotes, we expertly process countless seeds such as wheat, fava beans, chickpeas, and beans for traditional dishes like tlatlapas and tlacoyos
Currently, I combine my work as an artisan with my job at the Tetlanohcan City Hall, where I serve as a support manager for vulnerable people. This responsibility allows me to give back to my community what I have learned, working with empathy to improve the quality of life for those who need it most. I feel deeply fulfilled to be a woman who not only preserves traditions through thread and the mill, but also actively works for the human development of her municipality.
Pepenado embroidery on blouses and napkins
The pepenado technique is one of the most sophisticated and demanding hand embroidery techniques, distinguished by its precise execution, which achieves an impeccable finish on both sides of the fabric. This "double-sided" effect is the hallmark of an ancestral technique that simulates the perfection of a woven fabric, but with the unique warmth of the artisan's soul. Applied to blouses and napkins, pepenado not only joins pieces or defines edges, but also gives each garment a delicate structure.
Our embroidered napkins are canvases of cultural identity, whether through the rigor of the pepenado or vibrant floral and geometric designs, each piece transforms the table into a space of tradition and art, celebrating the richness of Mexican iconography in every stitch.

She has always felt a deep connection and interest in the history of indigenous peoples, a bond that she has also strengthened alongside her husband, a member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
Convinced of the enormous talent and creativity of Mexicans, Aidee seeks to create bridges between Mexico and Canada to give greater visibility to indigenous artisan work and continue celebrating our roots through jewelry.
PLATA VIVA was born from a love for Mexican crafts and the stories that live within each handmade piece. I work primarily with .925 Mexican silver from Taxco, personally visiting the workshops of master silversmiths who keep this ancestral craft alive, far removed from mass production. My pieces also incorporate black clay from Oaxaca, created by master artisan Citlalicue; copal wood, hand-carved and painted by Araceli in San Martín Tilcajete, the land of alebrijes; and palm, dyed and woven by artisans from Chilapa, Guerrero.
Through jewelry, I seek to honor the beauty, effort, and memory of our people, creating a bridge between the indigenous cultures of Mexico and Turtle Island
